‘Theeb’ – An Inclusive Experience
Runtime: 100 min
In partnership with the Translation and Interpreting Institute of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad bin Khalifa University, we are once again honoured to bring the magic of cinema to everyone through an inclusive screening experience.
Our visually impaired audiences will be able to view the film through sound alone, with audio description of those visual elements that cannot be understood through voice, music or sound effects. While our viewers who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or have difficulty understanding speech will benefit from enriched subtitles in Arabic and English, as well as sign-language interpretation.
By adapting the film to the needs of audiences with different abilities, we hope to make cinema universally accessible. This year’s film is the suspenseful adventure drama 'Theeb', by British-Jordanian director Naji Abu Nowar, which was nominated in 2016 for an Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
