The Ajyal Film Festival engages families and educators through an annual celebration of the best in international youth cinema. Our programme includes thought-provoking documentaries, captivating drama, light-hearted comedy and live performances - so there really is something for everyone and all ages to enjoy.



Made In Qatar – Presented by Ooredoo

Once again, the Ajyal Film Festival is pleased to celebrate the exciting state of filmmaking in Qatar. This year, some of the chosen shorts were shot internationally, attesting to the ever-expanding influence of our burgeoning film industry. The two programmes presented feature a selection of compelling short narratives, documentaries and thoughtful essays.

Under the Moonlight Cine-Concert

Ajyal is thrilled to welcome back the ever-popular Forum des Images to present the Qatar premiere of their latest cine-concert. In a delightful musical show full of sweetness and dreams, five short films tell tales of the stars, sun and moon, and all the creatures that look up to them. The series will be accompanied by live musicians and is truly a feast for all the senses!

Made in India

To celebrate the ‘Qatar-India 2019 Year of Culture’, Ajyal in partnership with the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI), is proud to present a selection of contemporary short films from up-and-coming Indian directors. Curated by the Mumbai Film Festival’s programme coordinator, Kalpana Nair, the shorts offer us an insight into modern India and are a testament to the country’s vibrant filmmaking heritage.
