Synopsis

Sabrina, a troubled teenager, is to appear in court today. The charges against her are serious, but her lawyer and her probation officer are confident she is on the right track. However, Sabrina is a loose cannon so things don’t go quite as expected. ‘The Runaway’ effectively relies on the tradition of gritty cinéma-vérité until it arrives at its moving resolution, accompanied by a youth choir singing ‘Penitential Hymn’ to underscore Sabrina’s ultimate decision.
