Synopsis

It’s dim and dreary inside a battery-farm shed, where hundreds of hens sleep, eat and deliver their eggs in a neverending daily regimen. When one bedraggled bird dares to dream of life in the sunshine and defies the standard routine – much to the horror of her feathered companions – the rules that regulate her dull-as-dishwater existence no longer apply. ‘The Sunshine Egg’ looks at the joy freedom brings, as well as the courage it takes to claim it.
