Synopsis

Special Screening

After his mother dies, 12-year-old Juneau Trudel moves with his father to a small Quebec town. Here, Juneau befriends Julie, the stubborn goalie of the Lynx, the local minor-league team. When she sees Juneau’s extraordinary hockey abilities, she soon convinces her coach to get the newcomer out on the ice – hopefully in time to make it to the International Pee-Wee tournament in Quebec City.

With Juneau playing centre, Julie thinks the Lynx have a shot at playing in the final. But first, Janeau will have to win over some of his teammates – especially Joey, the captain. Only if they work together and leave their differences in the locker room will they have a shot at beating the dominant Russian team.

‘The Pee Wee 3D’ breathes new life into the formula of inspirational sports movies by focusing its keen and sensitive eye on the complex, intertwined relationships that unfold among the various characters, each with a heartfelt story to tell and a personal challenge to overcome. 3D technology is put to good effect during the practice and game scenes, making them all the more spectacular, but the real depth of the movie lies in its strong character development. Even if hockey is not your game, you can’t help but being won over by these kids’ dreams.
