Synopsis
Desperately in need of water to heal her ailing mother, Kenza and her father pull the last remains of a depleted well, when they suddenly hear an enigmatic stranger cry for help. Wounded and clasping a mysterious bag, the man offers her father a bounty he cannot refuse. Set in the Arabian desert, this periodical drama follows Kenza as she explores the nuances between familial responsibility and greed.
About the Director
Yassine Ouahrani is a French-Moroccan filmmaker, and graduate of communication from Northwestern University in Qatar. He was a two-time Studio20Q grant recipient for two short narrative films and received recognition from the university’s annual Media Awards for his short film ‘Noor’. His work revolves around Arab culture and identity with an emphasis on diaspora through contemporary and periodical pieces. He is currently working on the short film ‘6 Months and One Day’, and developing his first feature-length film about his grandfather’s life as an immigrant wrestler in France.
