Synopsis

Along with her best friends Sadu, Anton and Olav, Mari spends her leisure time hunting for treasure hidden by her kindly grandfather, Peter. Sworn enemies of the neighbourhood bully Leo and his mean gang of thugs, the four pals swear to face any adversity they run up against as the Secret Society of Souptown – that’s SSOS for short. But when a vile villain known only as The Mask poisons most of the adults of the town of Tartu with a strange toxin that makes them behave like rambunctious children, the Secret Society find themselves in a race against time to find the antidote.

Luckily, Peter gives Mari a mysterious notebook that will start the kids off in the right direction, but when he, too, succumbs to the machinations of The Mask, it’s up to SSOS to figure out the mystery on their own.

Director Margus Paju delivers a classic adventure film, complete with puzzles and potions, exciting secrets, unexpected surprises and all the other good stuff that makes being a kid so much fun. At the same time, he explores themes like bullying and contemporary parenting, all the while celebrating the amazing creative abilities of the young mind.
