    Join us in conversation with the star of DTFF Opening Night Film, “Black Gold”. One of the most renowned actors working today, Banderas made his screen debut in 1982’s “Labyrinth of Passion” by legendary Spanish auteur Pedro Almodovar. He continued working with Almodovar over the years, most recently in the highly acclaimed “The Skin I Live In”. He has starred in more than 30 films including “Desperado”, “Frida”, “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”, “Interview With a Vampire” and is known worldwide as the star of “The Mask of Zorro”. He is the voice of Puss in Boots in the “Shrek” series and the upcoming feature “Cat in Boots”.

  • Meet Asif Kapadia

    Asif Kapadia is known for exploring extreme and timeless landscapes and characters on a spiritual journey. His first short “The Sheep Thief” (1997) won Second Prize in the Cinefoundation at the Cannes International Film Festival, and Grand Prix at the 1997 European Short Film Festival. His first feature film “The Warrior” (2001) won two BAFTA Film Awards. “Far North” (2007) his third feature film, premiered at the Venice Film Festival. And this year he has reinvigorated the documentary genre with “Senna” (2011), a masterful and touching glance into the life of Ayrton Senna, the formula one driver who tragically died in 1994.
