DTFF Day 2: “Bollywood: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told” Red Carpet
26 October 2011
Today was AMAZING, it was my first time on the red carpet with my reporting partner Judy. I will admit I was more nervous than I have ever been before; my heart was beating like the fastest drumroll. Although when I first said “Hi I’m Naji” to Jeff Zimbalist the director of “Bollywood: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told”, everything vanished. I also met my mom’s favourite actress Yosra Khalifa. When I told her that she’s my mom’s fav she gave me and judy a kiss and SHE asked for a picture with us! Yosra was very kind.
We then met Manish Malhotra, top Bollywood fashion designer. All the ladies on the red carpet were wearing his dresses. We did our wrap on the red carpet and I thought we did great. Later we did Man on the Street interviews and learned how to Hindi Dance.
I finished the day off BreakDancing with my crew Mighty Jokers and watched the best beatboxing in my WHOLE LIFE!
That’s it for now!

Today I had a great time. It started off normally, the exceptional breakfast, the normal Wii. A few hours later I looked at my watch and realised it’s 3:30. I was at my neighbor’s house so ran down to my house, got ready at the speed of light then got into the car with my dad. We were still in the car when the clock struck 4:00 pm; we were lost. After a few minutes we found our way to Katara. We parked underground and waited for a golf cart… 5 minutes later, nothing, looks like we have to walk to Building 3.
It took around ten minutes to get there. We sat down and got some of our equipment like our DFI Kids Access notebook. We played a theater game with a mimed ball, after that we walked to building 25 when Sandy supposedly ‘‘took the long way round to Building 25’‘. Then we had a meeting with Tira, a media-training specialist. We met a DFI camera crew who shot our session. The camera loved me…
Well that’s it for today!

Najwa
This is Najwa, DFI Kids Access reporter with news from 21/10/11. I went to Katara for rehearsals with Sandy. It started off with a game we played with Greg and an invisible ball. Then, we went to a different building for media rehearsals with Tira. In the room was a long table with 8 chairs, just enough for everybody. At first, Tira introduced herself and we all introduced ourselves to her. After that, she explained the concept of speaking loud and clear. She told us not to talk too fast, but to be fast in getting to the celebrity, as we would not be the only interviewers on the red carpet. We were then asked to write a paragraph in our notebooks about what we have done and experienced from the beginning of the day until that point. After reading our paragraphs out loud, we did a few videos of the kids pretending to interview a celebrity. We had to think of at least two important questions to ask. Then Sandy and Amber discussed the papers in the pamphlet we were given. Mum and dad were standing outside, as the rehearsals have ended. I had an awesome time with everyone and I can’t possibly wait for the next rehearsal.

Naji
Hi, I’m Naji and I’m going to tell all about what I did in Katara with the DFI Kids Access reporting team. First, Amber took me to Sandy. She gave us folders with a lot of info. I also made some new friends like Khaled, Abdullah and Omar.
We played a game with Greg; someone says something and when it’s your turn you have to say the first thing which pops up in your head, that’s to teach you how to think fast and answer quickly.
On our way to Building 25 we saw this cool thing in the sky “ I think it’s a plane” but later Tira said it could be a ‘UFO’. Tira, a Media Specialist taught us how to look straight at the camera, think fast, and so much more.
The DFI Content Team recorded me talking about Family Day and what it will be like on the Red Carpet, it felt kind of weird.
Well I guess that’s it!
