Faraya
Spring Grants 2019 - Development Stage
Synopsis
Located in the mountains of northern Lebanon, Faraya is a posh ski resort that was built in the sixties above a modest village. On the eve of the opening of ski season, an inexperienced municipal police officer investigates the death of a domestic worker that is apparently linked to a wave of racist hate crimes. His errors in judgement and clumsiness soon trigger an avalanche of violent events and shocking revelations about the inhabitants of the resort—a microcosm of Lebanese society.
