Synopsis
By the Time It Gets Dark’ tells the interwoven stories of several characters: a film director and her muse; a waitress who keeps changing jobs; an actor; and an actress. Their lives are loosely connected by almost invisible threads. The narrative sheds its skin several times over the course of the film, to reveal layer upon layer of the complexities that make up our lives.

About the Director
Anocha Suwichakornpong graduated from the MFA film programme at Columbia University. 'Graceland', her thesis film, was the first short film from Thailand included in the Official Selection at the Festival de Cannes Cinéfondation. Suwichakornpong’s first feature, 'Mundane History', won numerous awards at festivals, including a Tiger award at Rotterdam, the Grand Prix at Transylvania and New Horizons, and she was named Best Director at Mumbai. She founded Electric Eel Films, a production house based in Bangkok, and is active as both a director and producer. She is currently working on her second feature, 'By the Time It Gets Dark'.
