Doha Film Institute is calling out to film enthusiasts who want invaluable experience at this year’s Doha Tribeca Film Festival, which runs from 17 – 24 November.
The Festival is looking for over 500 volunteers to assist in delivering one of the most popular cultural events of the year.
“We look forward to welcoming volunteers who are serious about the film industry and who want to gain some priceless experience at this year’s Festival,” says Maggie Kim, Executive Director of Programming at Doha Film Institute [DFI]. “This opportunity will provide volunteers with the unique chance to network with film experts, industry professionals and international guests and their hard work and commitment results in the creation of a great cultural event.”
Volunteers will get industry experience, attend screenings and workshops and receive a participation certificate.
Hundreds of high school students, undergraduates, homemakers and executives lent their support in past editions volunteering in areas including theatre management, ushers, transportation, guest relations, floaters, runners and administrative roles.
Safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance and DFI wants to extend this to volunteers. The age limit has therefore been set to 18 and over this year, so that it’s aligned with DFI’s working practices. The Festival will offer specially designed programmes to engage volunteers below the age of 18 to build on their experiences and provide a creatively enriching environment.
Potential volunteers should register online.
