Synopsis

Amira doesn’t like going to kottab to learn the Holy Qur’an, because she has a mean teacher and the other children make fun of her. She comes up with a plan to make sure she doesn’t have to attend her class ... but things don’t go exactly as she expected. Amusing and touching, ‘Wooden Hand’ celebrates the spontaneity of young minds – and shows, too, that there are useful lessons to be learned in making mistakes.
