Part of the Sundance Institute, and founded by Robert Redford, it started in 1981 with a group of friends in the mountains of Utah, trying to foster new talents and visions in American Film. It established itself as the largest independent cinema festival in the United States with a creative perspective for independent cinema, and a ground for social networking.
Many famous independent filmmakers found their big break with Sundance like Quentin Tarantino and Jim Jarmoush. And helped in the highlights of films like “The Blair Witch Project”, “Little Miss Sunshine” and “ Reservoir dogs”. Let’s see what this year’s version has to offer, looking forward for a breakthrough in 2011.
